Giuseppe Comuniello was born in Viareggio and brought up in Fucecchio. In 2007 he lost his sight due to a retinal illness. He therefore left his profession as a baker to dedicate himself to the practise of various sports and nearing himself to dance thanks to Virgilio Sieni, with whom he made his debut on stage in the choreography of “Archeologia del corpo e della luce”.

He participated in the duo Prima danza su ciò che ignoro (2009), he interpreted the solos in Atlante del bianco (2010) and Pinocchio_leggermente diverso (2013), and the “Danze leggermente diverse” presented in 2014 at the Biennale Danza di Venezia. On this occasion he worked for one month, through improvisation, on some themes of movement connected to characters coming from the world of fairy tales and the comedy of art, making the other blind people come closer to dance.

From 2016 he has been collaborating with the association “MUVet” holding laboratories called shared practises, making non dancers and dancers meet each other in the dance laboratories.

He runs laboratories of knowledgeable movement also drawing to contact improvisation dance; of the last few, the speech for #Unlimited Workshop at Oriente Occidente – Rovereto (2016) and workshops for the festival “La Democrazia del Corpo – Firenze (2016/2017)

From 2017 he has been working for the danzabile theatre with Emanuel Rosemberg, on the project of “disability on stage” with the choreographer Emanuel Gat and the second year students from the university of “Zhdk” in Zurich.  

He participates as a dancer for the European project for inclusive dance “Moving Beyond Inclusion” whose partners are Oriente Occidente Festival, Candoco Dance Company, The Croatian Institute for Movement and Dance, Producentbyrån/Spinn, Tanzfähig, BewegGrund
